Tidefire – Privacy Policy
How the game Tidefire: Pirate Ship Battle handles your information.
Last updated: 4 November 2026
The short version
Tidefire is a single-player pirate ship battle game. It has no advertising, no third-party analytics or tracking, no chat, and no accounts of its own. The developer does not run any server for the game and does not sell or share your information.
Two Google and Unity services built into the game handle some data so that their features work: Google Play Games (optional sign-in and cloud saves) and in-app purchases through Google Play (via Unity IAP). Each is described below.
What stays on your phone
The game saves your progress on your device: levels and stars, gold, Eagle Eye charges, upgrades, ships and paints, and your settings (music, sound, battle view and graphics). This information stays on your phone. It is removed when you uninstall the game or clear its data in Android settings.
Android may include this save in your device's own backup to your Google account, if you have backup turned on. That backup is managed by Google under your Android settings.
Google Play Games and cloud saves
Signing in with Google Play Games is optional. You can play the whole game without it. If you sign in, Google Play Games shares your Play Games profile (your gamer name and avatar) and a player ID with the game, and your game progress is saved to your Google account as a cloud save, so you can carry it to a new phone.
The cloud save is stored by Google in a hidden app folder in your Google Drive. It contains the same progress listed above, not your contacts, files or other personal information. Google Play Games is provided by Google under the Google Privacy Policy.
In-app purchases
The game is free and offers optional purchases of in-game gold and Eagle Eye charges. Payments are handled entirely by Google Play. The developer never sees your card or payment details.
Purchases are processed in the game by Unity In-App Purchasing (Unity IAP), a component from Unity Technologies, which confirms purchases with Google Play and restores them when needed. Unity's handling of this data is described in the Unity Privacy Policy.
Data collected by these services
To make sign-in, cloud saves and purchases work, and to keep the game stable, the services above may collect:
- Identifiers: your Play Games player ID and device or app identifiers.
- Purchase history: which in-game items you bought, so purchases can be delivered and restored.
- Approximate location: a rough location derived from your internet connection, used briefly and not stored.
- Game progress: your cloud save, only if you sign in to Play Games.
- App diagnostics: crash logs and performance information.
This data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS). It is used only to provide these features and to improve stability. It is not used for advertising and is not sold.
Permissions
The game does not ask for your location, contacts, camera, microphone, photos or files. Its Android package lists only internet access, network status and Google Play billing, which are needed for Play Games, cloud saves and purchases.
Your choices and deleting data
- You can play without signing in to Google Play Games. Your progress then stays only on your phone.
- To delete your progress from your phone, uninstall the game or clear its data in Android settings.
- To delete your Play Games data and cloud saves, use your Play Games profile or your Google Account.
- For anything else, email the developer (below).
Children
Tidefire is made for teenagers and adults (13 and over). It is not directed at children under 13, and it does not knowingly collect information from children.
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
